Some people get their eyes poked out by birds

I know, I know, I just keep posting about the birds. One day I will stop taking blurry pictures and posting OMG BIRDS posts, but that day is not today.

I’ve never seen so many in flight at once, it was actually really beautiful, and although it’s totally cliched to say it’s like the sky was full of grace, I just said it anyway.

A murder of crows flew past my apartment a couple of weeks ago…it lasted over 20 minutes and stragglers were STILL coming by

I like how you protest yourself just a little bit at finding a cliche that got that way for a reason. 😉

I figure it’s better for me to protest just a bit than to have someone comment with “OH MY GAWD I BET YOU THINK YOU’RE A FANCYPANTS WRITER BUT IT’S BEEN DONE.”

Reading something like that might be a huge blow to my fancypants writer ego.

That’s the thing about you writer types. You’re all so sensitive.

How long do these guys hang out around your town every year?

Honestly, they could be around year-round but only come out as the sun is setting, and winter is the only time that I’m at work to see it.

I used to bus by there every day on my way to the Kent train station.

I dunno why I thought that when you lived here you lived/worked in the city proper. The Kent train station area has improved SO much, btw.

I did for a while. I worked in SoDo for a year and a half, then in Tukwila for a year and a half. But when I worked in Tukwila, I lived in Tacoma for six months and my work schedule was such that I could never get to the Tukwila train station in time. So I’d catch the 150 down to Kent, get Chipotle and catch the train back to T-town.

I just stood there for a while, awed, taking it in as they swirled overhead. It made me a little sad that other people didn’t seem to notice or care, but also a little glad that I could appreciate something like this. 🙂

That’s okay: birds tend to poop on those people. That’ll learn ’em.
