New bed! So tall and puffy, it may no longer be physically possible for the dog to climb in and put his butt on my pillow, which is his favorite thing to do when I’m out and about and he can’t put his ass directly in my face. However, it may not be physically possible for me to get in, either.
I really like this picture!
Thanks!
I can relate to having issues climbing up the bed to get into it. That’s why we broke down the wooden sleigh bed frame and got a simple metal frame when we added the 3-inch memory foam mattress topper. The Welshman didn’t want to be used as a pulley all the time. LOL
And I like this pic, too. It’s got great balance.
I tested it and luckily I won’t need to attach rigs to the ceiling in order to get into the bed–another couple of inches and it’d be a different story!
LOL, you should have seen me using the Welshman’s leg to pull myself up onto the bed. It was pretty funny.
Your dog looks so defeated. He is a broken man!
Somehow that crafty fucker can look defeated and yet I left the apartment for a minute to put the bedspread in the wash and came back to find him on the bed. DAMN IT.
Hahahaha! Penelope would do the same thing. Since she can somehow make her way onto the COUNTER to steal sticks of butter, nowhere is safe. I think they do a power run to build up speed and THEN jump.
He understands that when there are people on the bed, he’s not allowed up, but figures when we’re gone, any and every surface is fair game for his butt. This will be easier to train when we’re in the new place–at the moment, I keep his cage/bed/safe place in the bedroom and it would be confusing to him for me to shut the door when I’m out, preventing access to his safe space AND the bed. Once we’re in the house, his house will go into a different room, and I can shut the bedroom door to prevent dog access and then he can still have his safe space.
I think that will make a huge difference and instantly set boundaries. Happy dog AND happy you guys! And no mroe butt pillows.

Niiiiice!
That is a princess and the pea bed if ever I did see one! 🙂 Hopefully there’s no pea in this one, though. And dogs, yeah. They can jump high.
I did some rolling around on it and could detect the presence of no peas, thankfully.
Did you ever end up getting a new mattress? I recall that you had one you weren’t happy with and were still within the return period.
Considering he has tape worms, I can see why you want to keep him off the bed. O.o But yeah, that’s one tall mattress!
No more tapeworms, I killed those with worm meds. I am tired of him getting hair all over the bed, though.
Ooh! Are you gonna make your own headboard?? I wanna help! I’ve been DYING to make a tufted headboard! It’s pretty easy! And you get to use a DRILL!
Maybe, I have always liked the look of the tufted leather headboards. But adding a headboard might look odd–technically there’s still a headboard there, it’s just that the bed is up to the top of it.
Ah, I see now. Well, you could always attach a new extension to the existing headboard. Or just hang the new one directly on the wall with French cleats.
Oh, who am I kidding? Ever since I learned about French cleats, I’ve wanted to make and use one to hang SOMETHING on the wall. 😉
Bed! Doggy!
Sorry, have been reading, just not commenting. Miss talking to you though!

purty! now you can get one of those cool steps for your bed– like the kind kings and queens used to use! that would be so cool!
My dog likes to get on the bed too.
But as he’s as tall as a house, it’s kind of difficult to stop him.
